BARA AL-OBAIDY

Bara Al-Obaidy (he/him) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) based in downtown Ottawa, where he offers individual, couples, and group therapy through his practice, Obaidy Psychotherapy. His areas of interest include trauma, intimacy, anxiety, ADHD, cultural identity (focusing on Third Culture Adult Kids), and men’s issues, with a strong focus on emotional connection and relational health.

Bara’s therapeutic style is grounded in Experiential and Humanistic approaches, incorporating somatic work, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), client-centered principles, and psychodynamic understanding. He is trained in the Gottman Method (Levels 1 & 2), and works in a way that is both intentional and collaborative—helping clients deepen their self-awareness while building practical relational skills.

Alongside individual and couples therapy, Bara offers multi-session workshops for couples, as well as relationship intensives for those seeking focused support. He is especially committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients of all backgrounds can explore their experiences with openness and care. His work is balanced, thoughtful, and guided by a belief in meaningful, lasting change.
