Immersia Reading & Coffee Lounge
“Romance is a valid and safe way to explore one’s sexuality.”

Meet Antonya Radu
Immersia Reading & Coffee Lounge is creating a space where romance, reading, curiosity, and self-exploration can exist together without shame. We caught up with founder and romance author Antonya Radu to learn how her own journey through women’s empowerment and the romance genre inspired Immersia, why she believes romance can play a meaningful role in sexual wellness, and what CLIMAX attendees can expect from their cozy book nook this October.

I originally launched a women’s empowerment coaching business in 2024 and decided to go back to school to gain the skills and knowledge to give my business its best chance.
Around the same time, I published my debut novel, a dark contemporary romance, and began attending book fairs and events. This brought me into contact with readers—mostly women who were in transitional phases of their lives and exploring their curiosities and sexuality for the first time.
As I listened to readers talk about their fear and shame, but also their persistent curiosity, and saw their excitement around the fun, smutty, bookish merchandise I sold alongside my books, I realized these were the people I wanted to serve.
Immersia brings together my passion for women’s empowerment and books, particularly romance. The genre has played a huge role in my own exploration as both an author and a reader.
I want to support readers in understanding that their journey begins before the front cover is opened and continues after the back cover is closed. By creating a beautiful space to shop and read, alongside meaningful events and workshops, we hope readers can get even more out of their love of reading.

There is a huge shift happening within the romance genre. More people are talking about it, and it’s increasingly being recognized as a powerful avenue for exploration and healing—but there are very few physical spaces that truly cater to it.
There are also so few third spaces created specifically with readers in mind.
Immersia is about creating that space: somewhere readers can connect, explore their interests, and experience in person the kind of community around romance and reading that has largely existed online.
-
We’re still building, but even at this stage, people’s excitement and interest in what we’re creating has been incredibly rewarding.
Seeing someone’s eyes light up when they hear about a space where they can experience the kind of community they’ve found online—a community that celebrates romance, reading, and understanding what its members actually want—has been really special.
-
At CLIMAX, Immersia will be spotlighting four local romance authors, including myself, with titles spanning different subgenres and heat levels.
We’re also looking forward to talking with attendees about the meaningful role romance can play in a sexual wellness journey.
Our booth will be set up as a cozy book nook—a place to browse, discover a new author, pause for a moment, and chat about your latest read.
-
Each of our featured authors will be offering pre-orders for CLIMAX, with individual perks depending on the author.
We’ll also be giving away a basket filled with sexy goodies and swag.

I attended CLIMAX as an author last year and loved the audience the event attracted. It also became a catalyst for my goal of serving sexually curious readers.
I believe sexuality is an important part of women’s empowerment, and I’m honoured to have the opportunity to be part of someone’s journey toward finding guilt-free pleasure.
Our spotlighted authors are also excited to participate in an event that isn’t specifically book-focused, but is still deeply relevant to their work from a different angle. They’re looking forward to meeting potential new readers and sharing their craft in a creative and meaningful way.
We want to shout from the rooftops that romance is a valid and safe way to explore one’s sexuality.

Sexual wellness is learning—and putting into practice—the understanding that your relationship with your sexuality and pleasure is yours alone, and yours to define.
That relationship is deeply personal. No one else has the right to tell you what it should look like. It’s about discovering what genuinely aligns with you as a person.
I believe it can be much bigger than that, too. Sexual wellness can become a force for healing, empowerment, spirituality, and so much more. Like the F-word, it’s pretty versatile—and its use is defined by the person who wields it.
